Friday Coed Soccer Rules
⚽ Pre‑Game Rules
- Waivers are required by everyone (Waiver)
Teams need 7 players at kickoff. If not, they must offer a forfeit. The other team can:
Accept the forfeit and still play
Accept the forfeit and head home early
Say “nah, let’s play for keeps” anyway
After kickoff, games may continue as long as each team has 7 players.
Using non‑registered players could result in automatic forfeit + possible league consequences.
Captains must ensure all players are eligible before each match.
Opposing captains may review and challenge the roster provided to the head referee.
⚽ Game Play
Slide tackling another player is NOT allowed.
Slide tackling with no one around (like stopping a runaway ball) is allowed.
Unlimited subs because we’re all adults with questionable cardio:
Team in possession can sub on any stoppage
Team not in possession can sub when the other team does
Both teams can sub at halftime or during long delays
Goalkeeper swaps must be reported to the ref
No bad vibes: profanity, racism, violence, or general jerk behavior = ejection + possible suspension.
Cards matter:
2 yellows or 1 red = ejected + suspended next match
Suspensions apply across all teams a player participates on
Serious stuff can mean multi‑game suspensions
Final‑match suspensions carry into next season
Suspended players:
May owe a fine
If they play while suspended, their team forfeits all points earned with them
Spectators must stay off the field. If they get abusive and refuse to leave, their team forfeits.
- If a guest player receives a suspension, both that player and the person who brought them will also be suspended. If no one claims responsibility for the guest, the team captain will receive the suspension.
No smoking or alcohol before or during games. Save it for post‑match celebrations.
Follow the rules of the field location.
Field providers aren’t responsible for lost items or any type of insurance.
⚽ Point System
Win: 3 points (forfeits count as 3 goals)
Tie: 1 point
Loss: 0 points
⚽ Standings Tiebreakers
Teams are ranked in this order:
Points
Goal difference
Goals scored
Head‑to‑head results
If teams are tied on points, goal difference decides. If still tied, goals scored decides. If still tied, head‑to‑head decides. If STILL tied, we decide by coin flip.
⚽ Playoff Matches
Playoff ties go straight to Penalty Kicks.
